Continuing to evolve their line of futuristic runners, adidas unveils yet another Torsion X with the vibrant “Orchid Tint” tones they’ve been oh-so-married to with their past few releases. On the lighter end of the color’s somehow diverse tonal spectrum, the pair lines in what can otherwise be described as a soft pink, allowing its many textural components to shine with no obscuring blacks. Mesh at its base bear a much more open weave with an underlying base of complimenting shade just right underneath. Overlays of much sturdier suede barely break out visually, though their added structure alongside the eye stays and surrounding tubes push the design into the Three Stripe’s more modern territory. Sole units are the clearest examples of this as it takes on staple Boost cushioning in a form segmented by intention: molds towards the forefoot are jagged in their two-piece construction while leaving the island that is the heel to more than double its thickness.
